Reach

Who to message, and whose birthday is coming

Live
Open

The friends and colleagues you'd want to hear from, surfaced before you notice they've gone quiet - so staying in touch is something you do on purpose rather than something you apologise for later.

Two tabs. Who to message is the people worth a note this week. Birthdays is the year ahead, month by month, so a birthday is something you see coming. A video note is one more way to reach someone, and has its own app, Video notes, linked from here.

Jane reads the threads you already have. Nobody is added, nothing is sent without you, and the only people who show up are ones you have actually talked to.

How it works

  • Open Reach for the people Jane thinks are worth a message right now, each with the reason it surfaced them - a thread that has gone quiet, the anniversary of the day you first spoke, or people you met around this week last year.
  • On Birthdays, fill in the ones Jane is missing or pull them from Google Contacts, and pick how far ahead to be reminded. When a birthday is close, Jane puts a note you can edit and send on your Live feed.
  • Want to say it on video instead? Open Video notes from the link on either tab.
  • Add the Updates widget to your home to see who is coming up without leaving the page, and tap anyone to open their contact panel.
